Household Batteries: 
Recycling bins for these are in the mailrooms. They are also accepted at all Chicago Public Libraries, Walgreens, and the Goose Island recycling facility.

Ink and Toner Cartridges: Recycling bins for these are in the mailrooms. They are also accepted at many office supply stores. 

Latex Paint:  The empty can is steel and can be recycled as metal.  Latex paint is not considered hazardous. Remove excess unused paint by absorbing it with kitty litter, sawdust or shredded paper.
 
Metal Hangers:  Return to drycleaners and laundromats.
 
Packing Materials:  Reusable foam packing and foam peanuts accepted at many local pack-and-ship stores.
 
Pharmaceuticals:  Area Police Stations -  nearest 24 hour drop-off center location 2452 W. Belmont.
 
Soaps and Shampoos from hotels and unused samples:  Clean The World
